Terms of Service
Effective September 20, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Joshua Vickers, doing business as Bible Recall, Douglas, Georgia, USA ("we"), covering the Bible Recall app and website. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Using the app
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, under the Google Play terms that also apply. You must be at least 13 years old. Do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell the app, interfere with its servers, or use automated tools against it.
2. Your account
The app creates an anonymous account when you first open it. You may attach a Google account so your progress can be recovered. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Choose a username that is not offensive, misleading or impersonating someone else; we may change or remove usernames that break this rule.
3. Premium purchases
- What you get. Premium removes the free tier's limits and unlocks the Library, as described in the app. Features may be added or improved over time.
- How you pay. All purchases are made through Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms. We never see your payment details.
- Subscriptions (monthly and yearly) renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel in your Google Play subscriptions settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Premium until the end of the paid period.
- Lifetime is a one-time purchase that grants Premium for as long as the app is offered.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. If you have a problem with a purchase, contact us first and we will do what we can.
- Restoring. Purchases are tied to the Google Play account that made them and can be restored on a new device from the Premium screen.
- Price changes. If we change a subscription price, Google Play will notify you in advance and the new price applies only after you accept it or at your next renewal, as Google Play's rules require.
4. Church plans
Churches and other organisations may purchase a plan that lets them create a group in the app and share content with members. Church plans are governed by a separate agreement with the purchasing church. Members of a church group are still bound by these terms as individuals.
5. Community content and conduct
Some features let you share things others can see: your username and profile, shared prayers, short messages, and, for church admins, posts to a congregation. When you share, you agree that:
- you will not post anything unlawful, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, or that infringes someone's rights or privacy;
- you will respect the confidence of prayer requests shared with you;
- we may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules, at our discretion and without notice;
- you can report content or block users from within the app, and we review every report.
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us the limited licence needed to store and show it to the people you chose to share it with.
6. Scripture and other content
The King James Version and the Berean Standard Bible are in the public domain. Cross-reference data is from OpenBible.info under a Creative Commons Attribution licence. Hymn recordings, fonts and other third-party material are credited in the app under Settings → Music credits. Everything else in the app, including its design, question banks, games and text, belongs to us and may not be reused without permission.
7. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the app running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may update these terms. If a change matters, we will note it in the app's release notes and update the date above. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections 3 (as to past purchases), 6, 8 and 10 survive termination.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
